It’s finally time for the dog to receive the well-deserved care and love that it has been missing out on for years. The little Shih Tzu was brought to Tri-County Animal Rescue in Boca Raton, Florida, after being dumped unceremoniously near the shelter fence and landing by the garbage truck in the middle of the night. The rescue team found her there, staggering and with matted fur.
One of the members of the rescue staff appeared older than his facial age as he recounted the recent news coverage of a shelter destroyed by the heroic act of saving a dog. The dog had been thrown over the fence by someone in the middle of the night, leaving it with cemented fur, hanging nails, wounded paws, and filled with aggression. The stench was unforgettable.
“I’ve never seen anything like this before, and usually I don’t see anything like it,” they added. The rescue’s veterinary staff immediately sprang into action to help save the dog’s life. “Five staff members worked for two hours carefully shaving her, removing her toes as they went, and her veterinarian suturing threads, cultivating absolutely everything,” they said.
“We found mammary tumors and their eyes in a permanent downward position due to the slaughter,” they continued. “One eye isn’t even completely covered. Her temperature was dropping and we rushed to her, telling her that the worst was behind her, that she had the ropes, that she was in love.”
