Last month, Brazil lost a courageous fighter in Maria who passed away after a long battle with cancer. During her trying times, Maria had the constant support of Belinha, her loyal dog who never left her side. According to Dionsio Neto’s online statement, his mother Maria referred to Belinha as her nurse and cherished her as a loyal friend.

Considering the significant role Belinha played in Maria’s life, it was expected for her to attend Maria’s funeral. She sat solemnly with her family members, showing a deep understanding of the somber occasion.

The following events had a profound impact on Maria’s son. To everyone’s surprise, Belinha stayed by Maria’s side throughout the remainder of the service, just as she did when Maria was alive. Neto was moved by these tender moments and wanted to capture them through photography, expressing the idea that animals offer unconditional love.

Belinha kept crying even after the wedding, often mourning the absence of Maria. To ease the dog’s sorrow, Neto and some relatives decided to take Belinha to visit her best friend’s new home, which appeared to have a calming effect on her.

Belinha managed to escape from her leash and headed straight to Maria’s tomb at the cemetery. Surprisingly, Belinha had never been there before. Neto was overwhelmed by the sight of the unbreakable bond between his mother and her dog. He shared with Estadão newspaper that his mother teaches him that love knows no bounds, not only among humans but also animals.
