From Abandoned to Adorable: The Inspiring Journey of a Puppy Rescued and Cared for at a Cat Shelter.

Margie Morris is the head of Project Purr Animal Rescue, an organization that provides assistance to homeless cats in Mobile, Alabama. Morris is accustomed to receiving stray or neglected cats at the shelter’s doorstep and offering them a home until they are adopted. One day, when Margie arrived at the facility, she came across something unexpected – a pit bull tied up in the parking lot. She was surprised and taken aback at first and didn’t know how to respond to the situation. Margie’s initial thought was about where to keep the dog, given that her organization only takes care of cats.

The pit bull is currently tied to a telephone pole, but it is not without some provisions. Along with the dog is a bed, a bowl filled with water, and a bag of food. The pooch patiently waits for someone with a good heart to come and rescue it from its current situation.

I am saddened because they abandoned him. In my opinion, the individual who left him is not capable of providing adequate support, but he still hopes for their assistance. This was communicated by Morris.

Margie Morris encountered difficulty in bringing the bull inside the cat shelter due to its small size. With around 90 to 100 kittens, there was simply no space for a dog. Hence, Morris had to consider other options. The first step was to give the pitbull a name, and she decided on calling it “Ranger.” To spread awareness about the dog and create interest among people, Morris took a snapshot of Ranger and posted it on various social media platforms. Subsequently, she personally transported the dog to the city’s dog shelter, where the facility’s staff promised to look after it.

The Purr Project’s message on their Facebook page was instrumental in garnering widespread attention, and many individuals stepped up to offer their assistance after learning about Ranger’s situation. Among these helpful individuals was rescuer Ginny Leclair, who felt compelled to act after hearing Ranger’s story. After being removed from the shelter, Ranger received medical treatment including spaying, vaccinations, and ringworm treatment at a veterinary clinic before being taken home to Navarra, Florida by Leclair.

Leclair admitted to feeling anxious about Ranger’s aggressive behavior towards other dogs, but she attributed it to his lack of exposure to living with other dogs during his formative years. Initially, she had doubts about his temperament but realized that he needed training and discipline. Leclair took charge and made it clear to Ranger that she was in charge and he belonged to her. Project Purr Animal Rescue is pleased with Ranger’s progress in his new home. With discipline, attention, and a lot of love, Ranger has improved greatly and now, according to Leclair, “he is doing much better.”

The current behavior of Ranger is that of a well-mannered dog who doesn’t provoke other dogs or people. Instead, he exhibits a playful demeanor. It’s great to hear how a dog’s life can be transformed with some affection and care.
